Center First UMC Holds Inaugural Back to School Health Fair; Many Thanks!
Our first Back-To-School Health Fair is in the books! Stops along the way were provided by Carol Newman with Jordan Home Health; Feleshia Thompson with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension-Shelby County Office; Dawn Barnes with Aurora Concepts; Dr. Clayton and Jackie Windham with Windham Family Dentistry; and Charles and Jennie Brady, Jasper Evening Lions Club; and Gerry Peacock with the Nacogdoches Lions Club. Thanks to the host of church volunteers who made children and parents feel at home: Mary Lynn Tinkle, Sharon Crelia, Peggy Haley, David, Shelli and Sydnee Haley, Eleanor Ginn, Nancy Dickerson, Martin Jones, Chris Watlington, Andi Foster with her ever ready camera and Matthew and Sarah Odom. In all, 36 children and their parents went to classes and received school supplies. Your generous donations made this possible. All leftover supplies were taken to Center Intermediate and Center Elementary schools. ~Rev. Karen Jones
