Lucretia’s Christmas Wish: Gift of Giving

Special Announcement!  FUMC will host our annual Lucretia’s Christmas Wish beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the basement on Tuesday, December 12 and invite special needs students from the area Shelby County schools to choose gifts for their parents and grandparents in order to enjoy the Gift of Giving.  Many of these students would not have the opportunity to purchase gifts for their parents.  As parents, we know that any gift, no matter the cost, is precious when given to us by our children.

Please bring any new or gently used items you have to the church office by Monday, December 11 for this worthy project. Gift items such as Christmas decorations, costume jewelry, knick-knacks, garage sale type items, new socks, new caps, or things you think a parent would like. Men’s things are especially needed. Christmas sacks and tissue paper are also needed to wrap the gifts.

Thank you for supporting this Gift of Giving mission of our church that was so close to Lucretia Bussey’s heart.

Many thanks to Mary Lynn Tinkle for coordinating the event for our church with the schools and to all the church volunteers and the ladies with the Xi Alpha Delta Rho Sorority with helping the students.
