On December 12, 2019 beginning at 9:00 a.m., the First UMC will host their annual Lucretia’s Christmas Wish by inviting special needs students from the area Shelby County schools to choose gifts for their parents and grandparents in order to enjoy the gift of giving. Many of these students would not have the opportunity to purchase gifts for their parents. As parents, we know that any gift, no matter the cost, is precious when given to us by our children.
Gift items such as Christmas decorations, costume jewelry, knick-knacks, garage sale-type items, new socks, new caps are accepted closer to the event each year as well as Christmas gift bags and tissue paper.
Thank you for supporting this Gift of Giving mission of our church that was so close to Lucretia Bussey’s heart.

Thank you for donating gifts to FUMC's annual Lucretia's Christmas Wish for the special needs students from the area Shelby County schools so they could enjoy the Gift of Giving by choosing gifts for their parents and grandparents. Many thanks to Mary Lynn Tinkle for coordinating the event for our church with the schools and to all the church volunteers and the ladies with the Xi Alpha Delta Rho Sorority with helping the students. Thank you all for your support with this important mission of our church that was so close to Lucretia Bussey’s heart.
